This easy homemade chocolate granola is crunchy, chocolatey, and packed with wholesome ingredients. Naturally gluten-free and vegan, it’s perfect for breakfast or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups rolled oats gluten-free if needed
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • cup Truvia or coconut sugar
  • ½ cup shredded coconut unsweetened
  • ½ cup raw almonds chopped
  • ¼ cup walnuts chopped
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup coconut oil melted
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips mini or dark preferred

Method
 

  1. Prepare oven and baking sheet: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine oats, cocoa powder, sweetener, coconut, chopped almonds and walnuts, chia seeds, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Combine mixtures: Pour wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir thoroughly until all the oats and nuts are evenly coated.
  5. Bake: Spread the granola mixture evenly on the baking sheet without pressing it down. Bake for 12–15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  6. Add chocolate chips: Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot granola. Let sit for 2 minutes to soften, then gently stir them in.
  7. Cool and store: Let the granola cool completely on the sheet before transferring to an airtight container.

Notes

For clusters, press the mixture slightly before baking and avoid over-stirring.
To reduce bitterness, use less cocoa powder or add more sweetener.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 weeks or freeze for longer shelf life.
Swap nuts for seeds to make it allergy-friendly.
Optional variations: add cinnamon, protein powder, or drizzle with melted chocolate after cooling.
